College of Business and Economic Development
I participated in a Social Media Marketing Internship with The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Business and Economic Development's Dean's Office during the summer of 2021. I worked with a team of graduate assistants and the College of Business's Marketing Coordinator to create engaging Tik Tok videos that would appeal to both prospective and current students.
I also worked with the graduate assistants to brainstorm content ideas to be published on the College of Business's Instagram page. I also helped proofread the College of Business Annual Report, looking for any errors before it was sent to the printing company. Below are the three Tik Tok videos I produced during my 6 week internship with this office.
Tour of USM's Business Building, Scianna Hall Pt. 1
My first task for the internship was to create an engaging Tik Tok video. I decided to do a tour of the first floor of Scianna Hall to showcase our amazing building! The office's graduate assistant filmed the video clips; I edited the clips, chose the Tik Tok sound, and did a voice-over explaining the different areas of the building. I edited the clips first in iMovie and once it was transferred to Tik Tok's editing section, I edited sound to match the video's timing.

This video is a continuation of the previous Tik Tok. This one is now showcasing the 2nd floor of Scianna Hall. The editing process was the same as the first one!
Countdown to the First Day of School
My final project for the internship was to create a video using a popular countdown sound used on Tik Tok. I had to choose 25 College of Business students to be a part of this project and for 2 weeks I had to stay in constant communication with them to ensure they were filming their videos and making sure they were filming the correct section of the sound. This project took around 60 hours of editing, and I used iMovie and Tik Tok to edit the videos and sound.

School of Psychology
I am currently the sole brand marketing intern working with the School of Psychology. USM's College of Business put me in contact with the School of Psychology's director and I was selected as the intern in September 2021. In this internship, I have the responsibility of creating a brand image for the department by means of logo design, color and font palette creation, newsletter creation, and the creation of a how-to guide for every intern after me.
I work closely with the School of Psychology director to help ensure I am creating a brand image that she believes will accurately portray the department as a whole.
USM School of Psychology Icons
The first task of this internship was to create an icon guide for the School of Psychology.
My advisor explained that "this initiative is geared toward helping psych majors better understand the skills the develop as a psych major which are widely desired in the job market across disciplines. So these icons might be used in syllabi, any promo materials, class lectures, student tracking systems, etc.". With that information, I paired up these graphics with each of the 17 skills that the American Psychology Association outlines in their knowledge skillset.
These icons were accepted, and will now be used by the School of Psychology at USM for years to come.
Logo Design
Because this is a branding internship, I have the opportunity to create anything and everything I can for the department that will create brand recognition. To help accomplish that goal, I have created various versions of a logo that the directors are currently deciding between.
